The global food industry has been hit hard by the economic impacts of COVID-19. Oversupply of milk, for example, has proven to be a serious issue of concern as many coffee shops are no longer operating. BBC reports that Dairy Farmers of America dumps 3.7 million gallons of milk daily due to commercial oversupply. Other agricultural products tell a similar story - from producers intentionally smashing their own egg produce, and farmers purposefully letting onions and tea plants decompose, disruptions in global commercial supply chains have led to an immense waste of products.
